It’s a wonderful Christmas world

Elvis dreams of a wonderful Christmas worlds

It’s a wonderful Christmas world

The wonderful Christmas world

The wonderful Christmas world beckons annually for humankind to become their highest selves, individually and collectively. Indeed, the holiday season is a truly wonderful Christmas world. Elvis Presley highlighted this for all of us with one of his classic holiday anthems. For today’s Monday Music, we will take a listen to a great Elvis Presley holiday classic: “If Every Day Were Like Christmas.”

This wonderful Christmas world provides much for the humans of this planet. It is the much-anticipated annual holiday season. And, what a myriad of delightful dualities and duplicities this time of year provides. Here’s a short list of wonderful Christmas world situations with which every internet reader surely has some amount of personal experience:

  • A time of giving, a time of stinginess (and discerning the difference!)
  • Love of family, the drama of family
  • We are all one kindness, get out of my way I’m buying the last toy-ness
  • A time of gratitude, a time of excess…and the list could go on.

Christmas’ seasonal message of hope and peace

The Christmas season is many things to many people. Under-girding each annual holiday season is a message of hope and peace, that the great sensation Elvis Presley captured in this song written by Red West. My favorite lines are:

And a glow fills my heart; I’m at peace with the world, as the sound of their singing fills the air. Oh why can’t every day be like Christmas? Why can’t that feeling go on endlessly? For if every day could be just like Christmas, what a wonderful world this would be.”

Happy Holidays!

I hear the bells
Saying Christmas is near.
They ring out to tell the world
That this is the season of cheer.

I hear a choir
Singing sweetly somewhere.
And a glow fills my heart.
I’m at peace with the world
As the sound of their singing fills the air.
Oh, why can’t every day be like Christmas?
Why can’t that feeling go on endlessly?
For if every day could be just like Christmas,
What a wonderful world this would be.

I hear a child
Telling Santa what to bring.
And the smile upon his tiny face
Is worth more to me than anything.

Oh, why can’t every day be like Christmas?
Why can’t that feeling go on endlessly?
For if every day could be just like Christmas,
What a wonderful world this would be.
