The Universe provides excitement every day; are you awake to it?
The Universe, God, Allah, Mother Nature or however you name it, invites us to be here NOW. And thankfully, that same entity provides ample reasons and ways to achieve that NOW-ness. Being here NOW can be experienced in many forms, and usually one object of attention can get you there quickest. Without attachment to perfection, might the journey “there” prove more pleasant? Certainly less attachment breeds more comfort and ease, and perhaps even a little flexibility and range. Why not enjoy the natural world as a practice to be here now?
This weekend, the Geminid Meteor Shower performs for FREE for everyone who can see the sky. This annual event is quite reliable, although the moon may outshine the meteors, depending on its phase. According to Space.com, “first reports of the shower emerged in the mid-1880s.“

Be present to the Universe NOW
Being present to the natural beauty of our world is a great practice for NOW-ness. And the Universe provides, 24/7, with sunshine, wind, starlight and moonshine. There’s no reason why we can’t all choose nature as a way to always be here NOW.
Earthsky is a great online resource to frequent for upcoming Celestial Happenings of the Universe. This week the annual Geminid Meteor show is available for viewing. Earthsky recommends Saturday December 13 as best viewing and also suggests viewing with a partner to cover more sky with vigilance. Don’t forget to allow yourself 20 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark.
