Love thoughts in 2012 with a 1960s hippy style
Today on Grounded Relating Monday Music Challenge we’ll take another time trip back to the Flower Power generation and hippy love thoughts. February is the month of love, after all. And love makes the world go ’round. Only today our hippy love thoughts musical selection “San Francisco” by the Mowgli’s isn’t from the Flower Power 60s; it’s from 2012.
According to the Mowgli’s website “San Francisco” released in October 2012. The song, and the group, made an impression. “San Francisco” is a great, upbeat song with a timely message about the potentials and possibilities that any heart can manifest. The video is fun to watch too.

The Millenials’ take on a spiritual construct of love
Interesting, right? In 2012 when the Mowgli’s first promoted “San Francisco” the group members were in their mid-20s, putting them in the generational category of Millennials. According to an article on MarketWatch.com: “Millennials, [are] typically defined as people born between 1980 and 2000 (and often infantilized by the larger society)…”.
Actually, the idea of the 20-something generation really getting the big spiritual construct of love’s potential is very timely, perhaps even what the world needs now. And who better to reach the Millennial generation than their own peers? It’s really a potentially great bridge-the-gap effort; some 60s Flower Power people are still among us, promoting “Love” and “Peace Baby.” It’s like the human race could be book-ended in spiritual growth, with our elders living love thoughts, and our youth espousing love thoughts. It’s a good idea, espousing love thoughts.

I’ve been in love with love
And the idea of something, binding us together
You know that love is strong enough,
I’ve seen time tell tales about that systematic drug,
Yeah that heart that beats as one
It’s collectively
Unconsciously composed
I lost my head in San Francisco,
Waiting for the fog to roll out
But I found it in a rain cloud
It. Was. Smiling. Down.
Do you feel the love? I feel the love
C’mon c’mon, lets start it up!
Let it pour out of your soullllllll
I’ve been in love with love
And the idea of something, binding us together
You know that love is strong enough,
I’ve seen time tell tales about that systematic drug,
Yeah that heart that beats as one
It’s collectively
Unconsciously composed
Do you feel the love? I feel the love
C’mon c’mon, lets start it up!
Let it pour out of your soullllllll-
Do you feel the love? I feel the love
C’mon c’mon, lets start it up!
Let it pour out of your soullllllll
