Self-discovery is a vital phase en route to bliss.
Self-discovery, knowing who you are, what you stand for, how you interact in the world, is vital to finding your bliss. If you don’t know who you are, who will? If anyone can tell you what you stand for, because you will believe from out there, how will you get to know the “in-here” part of yourself?
Worse, if people out there in the world, can sway your sense of self, because you haven’t done your self-discovery work…well, that’s an end game. You’ll never know who are, because it will keep changing depending on who you are listening to!
Self-discovery is as vital as knowing your own name, your health record, and your personal allergies. And sadly, if you don’t know a thing about your interaction styles, the world may blow you from place to place, and you could spend decades in a steady-state stream of “picking up the pieces.”
Are you ready to stop struggling? Do you want more than just getting by? Does even a modicum of internal peace and quiet amidst today’s frenetic pace of life sound good?
But have no fear! Because, the key to self-discovery may be as simple as pattern recognition. And, hallelujah! Several pattern recognition templates already exist! Are you ready to stop struggling? Do you want more than just getting by? Does even a modicum of internal peace and quiet amidst today’s frenetic pace of life sound good?
You bet it does! Hire a Self-Discovery Coach today and enrich your life through the exploration of intuition, the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) or the Enneagram.
How does the self-discovery process work?
Intuition and habits of attention can flavor, or even predetermine, personal experience. Where do you habitually spend your time? How often are you in the present moment? Or projected into a future experience? Or lulled into a false security by a pleasant, or unpleasant, past memory? With my training, I can teach you methods that can help you start seeing the difference and potentially even shift, or ease your habits of attention that cause dissonance in your daily life.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a really fascinating look at your essential personality and how different “types” can perceive the same situation in entirely different ways. The concepts of the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) have been around since the 1920s, and words like extrovert and introvert are already mainstreamed. But the richness of the system actually merits further exploration. Let me guide you through the territory, and then YOU can decide if it is a good fit.
Using the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) or the Enneagram for self-discovery
The Myers-Briggs (MBTI) is great for providing a neutral platform in your self-talk, that will nip automatic thinking and habitual attention patterns in the bud. This opens the space for relationship with yourself and others. When you know and can recognize your own habits of attention, you can then also have choice over where you put your attention. And with choice, you can choose to listen to the other from a place of compassion and non-judging, hearing them as they are, seeing their moccasins, instead of your own.
The Narrative Tradition Enneagram is similar to the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) in that it also studies and informs habits of attention. I have found the Enneagram more accessible on a spiritual spectrum, and thus even more profoundly informing. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?
Both systems, the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) and the enneagram, can be explored and used to meet you where you are. Perhaps your ground of being is ready for the Myers-Briggs (MBTI), and that is challenge enough. Perhaps you are ready to go even deeper, and the Enneagram would suit better. I am a certified teacher and practitioner of both, and the goal of Grounded Relating, LLC, is to “promote human compassion through self awareness;” let us help you start, further, unstick, or advance your journey.
